Before you can start using contacts, you will need to go through our simple yet comprehensive process to determine if you can wear contact lenses and what type of lenses would fit you best.
There are 3 steps to this process:
The first thing we do is perform an eye exam when we’re helping our patients find contact lenses.
Eye exams help your optometrist determine your prescription and the quality of your eye health to see if your eyes would benefit from wearing contact lenses. Unfortunately, not everyone is a match for contact lenses, so an eye exam is needed to determine if you can wear them.
During the fitting process, your optometrist will take detailed measurements of your corneal parameters, including size and shape, to ensure your contacts rest comfortably on the surface of your eye.
We’ll also give you a quick training session to learn the best ways to use your contacts and take care of them!
Once you’ve settled on a pair of contacts, we’ll give you a trial pair to wear for some time. At your follow-up appointment, we’ll take a look at how your eyes adjusted to contacts and make any changes you need to feel comfortable and see clearly with contact lenses.
